I'm communicating!

Something amazing happened in the last month and a half. I began to understand what people were saying to me! Now I am trying really hard to communicate back. I make all sorts of sounds from my mouth; these are the words that my parents have figured out I’m saying:

Spoken words and my meanings
Momma – Mommy, Daddy, Grandma, please hold me, where's my Mommy?!
up – I'm on the move going up/down, pick me up, I want to go outside/over there
da (downward intonation) – down (usually said with “up” i.e. “up-da”)
uh oh - something dropped!
mə - mail (checking mail is one of my favorite activities)
neh - no, i hate that, leave me alone, stop it, i want my way, @#$%& (usually "neh neh neh")
(panting) – dog
(1 pant) + grunt – hot
mmmmm – whale
(popping mouth by opening & closing) - fish
fsk – cat
(smack lips) – eat, breakfast/lunch/dinner
(loud grunt followed by exertion and red face) – I’m pooping
ah-um - open your mouth i want to feed you, feed me i have my mouth open

index finger on palm – more, please give me some of that
open & close hand - milk
rub body up and down – please
rub body up and down – bath
slide palms - all done
2 hands to side of face – sleep
Queen Elizabeth hand wave - hello or bye
sway back and forth - great tune!
shake head - no, i don't want that, (if doing while looking at Mommy's feet): put your slippers on 'cuz i don't like your feet
clap hands together, open up hands and look at palms - there is a pesty fly around!
