I spoke too fast

After being sick for two weeks, I was so excited to return to my music class, go to my playgroup and see my friends. I must have overdid it on the partying because I feel lousy! I've had a relapse and I'm sick again... My breathing is asthmatic and I have a 101.6 fever - both of which have been waking me up every hour or so. I have to admit that I am way crabby when I'm sick but my parents have been doing their best to take good care of me.

Meanwhile, I am up to 22 steps! I am getting pretty good at walking but I still primarily crawl. I like to throw my arms up into the air and pretend I'm Rocky while I take my little steps. Here's me right before going for a short walk. Banzai!

Back on track

I am healthy again after being out of commission the last 2 weeks. I caught a nasty respiratory virus called RSV. I didn't like it because the doctors made me breathe out of this plastic mask even though I kept trying to squirm away. Luckily I am better again, and back to practicing my walk! I can take up to 5 steps before I fall - luckily my Mommy's always there to catch me!

Here's me in happier and healthier days. I get so excited when I see my parents. I laugh "ke-ah!" and crawl up to them as fast as I can!


One of my last naps in my beloved Graco infant seat. I hear that I'm getting a bigger seat soon.

I've become a PediaSure junky

I'm drinking this ultra fattening milk called PediaSure because the doctors say I need to fatten up. It took a while for me to get used to, but now I love it! I've become a PediaSure junky, and it's diminished my interest in regular food. But it has helped me gain more weight. I am 16 pounds 4 ounces (<3%), 28 1/2 inches tall (24%), with a 42.8 cm head circumference (4%) now.

My Mom might think we're weaning, but I have other plans.

One year old fun

I am really enjoying all of my new skills and games. My favorite new game is Put Things Back. My parents seem quite pleased because the house has gotten much neater! I also took my first unassisted step today - from the coffee table to my Mommy. I got inspired by all the kids I saw at the Discovery Museum yesterday. I am trying to communicate more now too. I have learned the baby sign language for "sleep", "more" and my favorite "get that sh*t away from me!".

My Very First Birthday Party

I had a big party for my first birthday! My friends, cousins, Pawpaw (Mommy's Mommy) and lots of aunts and uncles came. We held onto some traditions - the gold bracelet Pawpaw got me which I really liked, and the whole roasted pig which I wasn't so keen on. The party was so fun that I didn't want to eat or sleep all day. I just wanted to check out all my guests!

It's my first birthday today! My parents made me carrot cupcakes, which I loved. I am acquiring quite a taste for sugar!
