I went to the Nutcracker ballet for the first time and I loved it! I learned the story of the Nutcracker in my ballet class, so I was familiar with Magical Uncle Drosselmeyer and the Nutcracker's battle with the Mouse King. I sat patiently through the whole thing, completely mesmerized. (I always tell Mommy about the kid behind us that said after 10 minutes, "I want to go HOME!") When Uncle Drosselmeyer waved his wand and made a bright spark into the air to shrink the toys, I was in awe. There was just a short bit in the 2nd half (around the "Sugar Plum Fairy") when I got squirmy and a kid behind me expressed
exactly what I was thinking by saying loudly, "They're doing the
same thing AGAIN!!". My favorite parts were the finale when everyone was dancing, and seeing the Nutcracker. I now ask Daddy for his iPhone every chance I get so I can watch segments of the Nutcracker on
YouTube. And can anyone out there tell me why they say "Aaaaah"??? (in the "Waltz of the Snowflakes", now officially named "the Aaaaah part".)
