Making dumplings in dumpling village

When Daddy was out of town, I got to spend time with Pawpaw. Here's us making dumplings! Don't worry, I still made Mommy do everything for me.

Xin Nian Hao!

I sang a song for my Chinese school's Chinese New Year of the Rat celebration. This was the first time I was able to perform in front of an audience!

We then danced under the lion's tail, and jumped on top of packing material to simulate firecrackers!

As the words of the song say: Happy new year! We sing; we dance. Happy new year, everyone!

This month's note from my teacher

"Today Isabella worked with Emiko during Montessori time and they did such a great job helping each other and taking turns. It's so wonderful to see two friends having a fun time working together! Great job, Isabella! :-)"

A "birl"

I like pretending to be a boy. I convinced my parents to buy me Diego underwear, even if they're boy's briefs. My latest thing is pretending to be the Nutcracker. I like to wear my tights on top of my underwear (nothing else, just like male ballet dancers) and dance to Nutcracker music. Georgie tries to get me to dress up in "what girls like" - my princess heels, feather boa and tiara, but I brush them off me because I'd rather play pirate! My favorite color is now green because that's his favorite color. Well, I like a rainbow of colors. For my Valentine cards this year, I chose Transformers while Mommy tried to excite me with 30 other designs. All the boy stuff is so much more fun!
