Yippee! I'm going out!

After a week of recovering at home, Mom got restless. So despite Chinese custom where we're supposed to stay home for one month, she decided that we should Enjoy Life - Eat Out More Often. So after my doctor's appointment today (where I weighed 6 pounds 11-1/2 ounces, measured 19 1/2 inches tall with a 34.2 cm head circumference), we all returned to Dopo where my Mom ate while she was in labor with me. They enjoyed a leisurely meal while I slept the entire time.

My parents have been surprised by what a peaceful and mellow baby I've been. They're not sure if we're still in a newborn honeymoon phase or if I have just a very different temperament from my sister. Only time will tell...

Did I shrink?

Hey, I thought I was supposed to get bigger once coming out of the womb! But all around I measured smaller at my first doctor visit today. My length is 19 1/4 inches (25th percentile), weight is 6 pounds 4 3/4 ounces (10th percentile), and head circumference is 32.8 cm (10th percentile).

This, despite the fact that I haven't had a #2 in 2 days, due to a special Chinese postpartum diet that Mommy is on that bans vegetables and fruit. It has left me - er - backed up. My doctor told her to stop this, so she had a big salad after our appointment. Now I'm having a BM in practically every diaper change!

Hi! My name is Sebastian Junchoy, and I was born on August 18, 2006 at 1:54 am, weighing 6 pounds 7 ounces and measuring 20 inches long.

I'm named "Sebastian" because my parents were engaged in San Sebastian, Spain and with my sister Isabella (i.e. Queen of Spain Isabella), we both have a Spanish connection. The middle name Junchoy merge parts of my great-grandfather and grandfather's names, and together means I will be talented and have good fortune.
